Dr. Lacey Jacobs is a board-certified optometrist who brings a wealth of clinical experience, a deep commitment to community service, and a warm, patient-first approach to the amaEyes team. With a strong foundation in comprehensive vision health and advanced ocular disease management, Dr. Jacobs is dedicated to providing exceptional eye care to patients of all ages across central Ohio.

Education & Training

Undergraduate Studies
Dr. Jacobs completed her undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, building a strong academic foundation as a proud Buckeye before pursuing her passion for optometry.

Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Jacobs earned her Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Bronzeville, Chicago, one of the nation’s leading optometric institutions.

Clinical Externship Training
As part of her optometric training, Dr. Jacobs completed externship rotations at a diverse range of prestigious clinical settings, including:

  • University of Kentucky Advanced Eye Care and Ophthalmology
  • Cincinnati VA Medical Center (VAMC)
  • Harper’s Point Eye Associates
  • Illinois Eye Institute

 

Her clinical rotations provided hands-on training in a broad spectrum of eye care disciplines, including:

  • Advanced ocular disease treatment and management
  • Emergency eye care
  • Oculoplastics
  • Specialty contact lenses
  • Senior and low vision
  • Pediatrics and vision therapy
  • Dry eye treatment
  • Primary eye care

 

Clinical Experience

Prior to joining amaEyes, Dr. Jacobs gained extensive experience in a large-scale optometric practice, delivering comprehensive eye care across multiple central Ohio locations, including Grove City, Columbus, and Marysville. This broad exposure sharpened her skills in routine and complex care alike, and deepened her appreciation for building lasting relationships with patients across diverse communities.

 

Community Involvement & Volunteer Work

Dr. Jacobs believes that quality vision care should be accessible to everyone. She has dedicated significant time to volunteering with local and national organizations that expand access to eye care for underserved populations, including:

  • Prevent Blindness
  • Vision Center at Faith Mission Homeless Shelter
  • Remote Area Medical (RAM) , mission trips
  • Special Olympics Ohio

 

Beyond the Office

Outside of work, Dr. Jacobs is an enthusiastic fitness enthusiast who enjoys staying active and making the most of her time with the people she loves most: her husband, her daughter, and a wide circle of friends and family. Her warmth, energy, and dedication to others are qualities her patients experience every day in the clinic.
